Finding myself crying for a family I’ve never met remind me that writing carries more than just words. It carries people’s hearts, and your heart for your pastor’s family is so evident in this tribute. Thank you for sharing it so that others can remember her, too
Oh Lissie 😭💕 This is a beautiful tribute and yet it’s so very heartbreaking. Your poetry and artwork is stunning, but the heart behind all of this is even more so. Praying for you all often xx
I'm so thankful you shared your poem for Emma to the "world"! Yes, it did bring back memories of the that unthinkable day. However, in the mist of the heartbreak, we have seen the beauty of God's love in the past nine months. I'm thankful you were transparent in expressing yours heart! May our kind King use it to help others in their grieving.
That was so beautiful. I haven’t seen such raw free form poetry in so long. I’m so sorry you and your Church family are going through this grief. Praying now.
This is so beautiful, dear daughter. Thank you for honoring sweet Emma's memory and special influence upon us all! This causes my heart to draw near to our Savior to gaze upon His beauty and receive His grace. I thought of what King David wrote: "One thing I ask of the LORD, that which I will seek after: to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD, all the days of my life, and to inquire-meditate in His Holy temple...I believe I will look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait upon the LORD, be strong and of good courage, and wait upon the LORD" (Psa. 27:4, 13-14). Love you, Daddy
Thank you for sharing this, Elisabeth. I didn't know it was her birthday yesterday. This is guy-wrenching to read, but I'm so glad you shared it. I totally understand your hesitation to share more raw, emotionally driven poetry. But the world needs to see more of the type of grief that also can hope. ❤️

Elisabeth, thank you for sharing this in honor of Emma Jane's first Heavenly birthday. We are praying often for the Franks family today.
